Review: The Friends We Keep by Susan Mallery

71Kcb5617LL.jpg (802×1206)
In this insightful and compelling story from book club favorite Susan Mallery, three close friends test the boundaries of how much a woman can give before she has nothing left

After five years as a stay-at-home mom, Gabby Schaefer can't wait to return to work. Oh, to use the bathroom in peace! No twins clamoring at the door, no husband barging in, no stepdaughter throwing a tantrum. But when her plans are derailed by some shocking news and her husband's crushing expectations, Gabby must fight for the right to have a life of her own.

Getting pregnant is easy for Hayley Batchelor. Staying pregnant is the hard part. Her husband is worried about the expensive fertility treatments and frantic about the threat to her health. But to Hayley, a woman who was born to be a mom should risk everything to fulfill her destiny—no matter how high the cost.

Nicole Lord is still shell-shocked by a divorce that wasn't as painful as it should've been. Other than the son they share, her ex-husband left barely a ripple in her life. A great new guy tempts her to believe maybe the second time's the charm…but how can she trust herself to recognize true love?

As their bonds of friendship deepen against the beautiful backdrop of Mischief Bay, Gabby, Hayley and Nicole will rely on good food, good wine and especially each other to navigate life's toughest changes.

Review:
I enjoy reading any of Susan Mallery titles. She can create such emotional stories that you could feel all emotions throughout the book. The Friends We Keep is the second book in the Mischief series but it can be read as a standalone.
The Friends We Keep follow three close friends that has a emotional journey in their life that will challenge them. The Friends We Keep will keep the reader through a emotional journey for Gabby, Hayley, and Nicole as they face some challenging journey in their life.
Nicole is such a sweet yet funny women that she find herself being okay about her divorce but she is still hesitate with men. I definitely love Nicole throughout the book because she is always finding herself in funny yet awkward moments especially with guys. She will find herself with a special guy in The Friends We Keep but it will be a emotional battle for her since she has a problem with trusting men.
Gabby is a strong mother that she definitely needs a life to define herself as a women. But it will be a hard challenge for her when a unexpected surprise come into her family life. It is definitely going to be challenge for Gabby to help her family while getting herself a career. But Gabby can definitely do it since she is a strong women.
Hayley is beautiful and kind women that she always dream on having a baby. But it is becoming a hard challenge about having a baby with her husband that it is taking a toll on her. I definitely feel so emotional for Hayley because it is becoming very difficult for her to become pregnant that it is becoming a long distant reach for her. But I know Hayley can make it through since she is strong that she will find it work. And she definitely did and I definitely cry at the end!
The Friends We Keep is an amazing emotional read that it will warm your heart! Four Stars!

Blog Tour: Kiss My Boots by Harper Sloan

About the book:
Hang on to your Stetsons this summer, because you’re in for one wild ride! Get lost in the second installment of New York Timesbestselling author Harper Sloan’s Coming Home series, KISS MY BOOTS. In the second installment, the wildest Davis of them all is looking for love…maybe.
Quinn Davis prefers to live her life quietly. She’s the stereotypical tomboy with two overprotective big brothers who have always looked out for her. Of course, it doesn’t help that her heart has already been hardened when it comes to devilishly handsome cowboys with silver tongues. That is, until Tate Montgomery comes riding back into town. Their first meeting, however, is far from something out of a fairy tale and only further convinces Quinn that men aren’t worth her time.
Growing up, the one time Tate ever truly felt at home was during the long, sweltering summer months he spent at his gram and paw’s farm in Pine Oak, Texas. Now, Tate has returned to his childhood sanctuary seeking a fresh sta…
