Ainsley O’Leary is so ready to get married—she’s even found the engagement ring her boyfriend has stashed away. What she doesn’t anticipate is being blindsided by a breakup he chronicles in a blog…which (of course) goes viral. Devastated and humiliated, Ainsley turns to her older half sister, Kate, who’s struggling with a sudden loss of her own.

Kate’s always been the poised, self-assured sister, but becoming a newlywed—and a widow—in the space of four months overwhelms her. Though the sisters were never close, she starts to confide in Ainsley, especially when she learns her late husband was keeping a secret from her.
Despite the murky blended-family dynamic that’s always separated them, Ainsley's and Kate’s heartaches bind their summer together when they come to terms with the inevitable imperfection of relationships and family—and the possibility of one day finding love again.
Review:
Guess who release another addicting emotional romance story? That is right, Kristan Higgins did. Kristan Higgins has release another emotional romance story that it will have you all twisted. On Second Thought is about two women discovering their self and along the way they will love.
Kate has always been the poised sister that she had no problem in dealing with crazy family especially her husband. But things will start getting complicated when she becomes a widow. She is going to feel so much emotions when she is dealing with her husband death. It will be a long road for Kate because she will discover some things about her self that she is going to struggle who she is again.
While Kate discovering a few things of her self, her sister, Ainsley, is discovering how much she invested her life into her boyfriend who is a douchebag. I definitely feel for Ainsley because she believe so much that her boyfriend was the one but he was not since he only care about him than her. It is definitely the push for Ainsley to separate herself and make a life without any man. It is very empowering for Ainsley to discover what she wants in life that she pushes herself to do so.
Kate and Ainsley will discover so many things about each other that they will evaluate what they want for their self. It definitely take time but it will happen for them. Do not worry, there will be some cute and sexy man around them that makes you swoon.
On Second Thought is the perfect story about discovering yourself again since Kate and Ainsley will do. Five Stars!
